A ministry of Agapè Amsterdam, Master’s Commission Amsterdam North (MCAN) offers a unique training experience. Students will be challenged to grow in their capacity, knowledge, and skill set, all for the purpose of being raised up as leaders to take their place within society and the Church.

Launched in 2008 by former directors, Enzo and Sandy Pignato, MCAN has seen many young people from around the world make decisions for Jesus, emerge as leaders, and be challenged to make a difference in their world.

We are a nine-month program running from September through June every year. We offer different time based courses, from three months to three years, with each course having a different purpose. We are a school that is personal and focused on the individual. We usually operate between 10 - 15 students each year.

The program is balanced by classroom learning, hands-on ministry experience, and doing life alongside others who have a similar heart and desire to grow deeper with God. Students receive the foundations to build a life of purpose and influence in the many places God calls them.

For David and Jillian, Amsterdam is not just a city, it’s a calling. Their journey here started when Jillian, from Canada, came to be a student at MCAN in 2010. During this time, she met David who was a student in an affiliated Master’s Commission program in the UK.

After getting married, they decided to stay and start their lives in Amsterdam. Out of their passion for the local church and a desire to see young people being reached by the gospel, they started a youth group called ‘RLVNT’ within their home church Agapè Amsterdam. Here they teach and lead young people in a fresh and relevant way, and believe for God’s Kingdom to advance in the neighborhood.

Now they’re taking this a step further by becoming the directors of MCAN to disciple and train students for nine months. Using the local ministries as a training place, they believe the students will learn what it means to serve God in a hands-on environment and take their experiences home to change their own communities.

Besides doing all this, David and Jill are raising their little boy, Clive, drinking insane amounts of coffee, and enjoying all the blessings that they have in their life.
